If you are a kombucha drinker that also likes the tastes of beer (like me ?), you’re going to love this Ginger IPA Kombucha Mocktail! Combining the a hop-infused kombucha–which can range from earthy, floral, citrusy or dank–depending on the character of the hops used to make it with fresh ginger and lime
It pours into the glass with a beautiful golden hue, shimmering with effervescent bubbles rising to the top of the glass and forming a creamy head. The initial aroma is a spicy, tangy scent of fresh ginger followed by the notes of the hops used (again depends on variety and profile).
The flavor is complex yet harmonious blend of flavors that begins with the earthy tang of the kombucha followed by the spicy and slightly warming ginger notes. It finishes with the pleasant but subtle bitterness from the addition of hops.
Ginger IPA Kombucha Mocktail is a great drink when you want to experience a beer but cannot (or are not) drinking beer for whatever reason. It has the added benefit of ginger which is know for many beneficial health properties, including reducing inflammation.
A mocktail is similar to a cocktail, but without the alcohol. A Kombucha Mocktail features kombucha as a wash in the base of the mocktail.
There are several reasons people choose not to drink such as health, religious, or a personal preference. Kombucha mocktails are great option for those who want to enjoy a satisfying social beverage while abstaining from alcohol. Just because mocktails do not have alcohol doesn’t mean they have to be sweet, boring or unsatisfying.
Kombucha mocktails, in addition to being delicious and satisfying, also contain additional health benefits. Apart from omitting alcohol, additional benefits come from the probiotics and antioxidants in the kombucha, especially in fruit flavored kombuchas.

Cocktail Shaker: A cocktail shaker or mixing glass to quickly and thoroughly combine and chill the ingredients. I have a basic 2-tin one, an upgrade to an OXO Insulated one and recently bought an Elevated Craft Shaker during their Kickstarter campaign (affiliate links ↗).
Serving Glasses: Two glasses for serving, for this recipe I like to use tulip-style beer glasses
Hopped Kombucha: Using a hop-infused kombucha form a base for the mocktail which imparts characteristics of beer.
Fresh Ginger: Fresh ginger, with it’s slightly peppery and sweet taste and pungent-spicy aroma gives non-alcoholic cocktails like this a light, spicy zip that emulates the sensation you get at the back of your throat when drinking alcohol. Ginger is also good for digestion and boosting the immune system. — Look for firm ginger “hands” with a taut peel. It should not look wrinkled or feel soft
Fresh Lime Juice: Fresh lime juice has a tangy and acidic taste, with a bright and refreshing aroma. It is often described as having a slightly sweet and sour flavor, with a subtle bitterness and adds a zesty and tart flavor that can balance out sweetness and enhance the overall taste.
